Chicken gyro
Chicken ingredients
2lbs thinley sliced chicken
1tsp Cumin
1 large onion
3 skewers
1 small onion grated
3 minced garlic cloves
1tsp grated ginger
1/2 tsp cayenne
1/2tsp black pepper
2tsp salt
1/4 cup greek yoghurt
Chicken procedure
1.In a large mining bowl add your thinly sliced chicken with your seasonings followed by your grated onion, ginger, garlic and greek yoghurt then mix to combine
2.let marinate for at least 1 hour
3.Cut 1 large onion in half, take one of the halfs and place 3 skewers in it to create a base
4.Place your chicken on the skewers 1 by one until you have used all of your chicken, then place the other half of the onion on top
5.Place on a baking sheet with a wire rack and roast in the oven at 400 for 45-60 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 (rotate chicken occasionally )
Pita ingredients
100 grams greek yoghurt (using yoghurt technically makes this naan but I still wanted to add it)
264 grams warm water
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
2tsp instant yeast
495 grams bread flour
Garlic butter
3 minced cloves of garlic
3 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp Finley cut cilantro
Pita Procedure
1.In a large bowl combine your warm water, greek yoghurt, salt , sugar, yeast, and olive oil and mix to combine
2.In a separate bowl add your flour then proceed to add your water mixture
3.Knead until combined, then cover with a towel and let rise for 1-2 hours
4. Once dough has doubled in size punch down and portion into 6 5oz balls, then roll out each ball into a disk
5. In a skillet over medium-high heat cook your pita until both sides are golden brown
6. Brush with garlic butter then serve and enjoy
Taziki sauce
1/2 cup greek yoghurt
1 tsp white vinegar
2 tbsp grated cucumber
1 minced garlic clove
1 tbsp chopped dill
1tsp salt
