Orange Chicken
Ingredients
1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
1 tbsp orange zest
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp fresh ginger
3 arbol chiles ( can be substituted with red pepper flakes)
Cornstarch slurry( 2 tbsp cornstarch & 2 tbsp water)
1 lbs chicken
1 well beaten egg
3 tbsp cornstarch
Procedure
Start by coating the chicken with the cornstarch and egg
In a wok heat oil to 350F and shallow fry chicken until golden brown and chicken has reached internal temperature of 165F
In a pan over low heat combine the orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, oyster sauce, garlic, and ginger and mix to combine
Add arbol chiles and cornstarch slurry and bring to a boil
Once the sauce is thickened toss the chicken in the sauce
Serve and enjoy
