Chick fil-a from scratch

Ingredients for chicken

2 lbs butterflied and pounded chicken breast

1 qt buttermilk

1 tsp mustard powder

1 tbsp garlic powder

2tsp onion powder

1 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp paprika

Prodedure

  1. Marinate chicken with buttermilk and seasonings overnight

  2. Make a flour dredge with 1 cup of flour and the same seasonings used in the marinade

  3. Dredge chicken in flour and fry at 350 for around 3 and a half minutes or until it has reached and internal temperature of 165(if chicken browns too fast on the inside you can finish cooking in the oven)

    Ingredients for bread

    4 1/2 cups bread flour

    1 cup of water

    1 packet instant yeast

    7 egg yolks

    2 tbsp sugar

    1/4 cup honey

    2 tsp salt

    1/3 cup vegetable oil

    Procedure

    1.In a stand mixer combine sugar, honey and vegetable oil and stir to combine with paddle attachment.

    2.Slowly add egg yolks and stir till combined

    3. Add the water

    4 Add the flour and yeast then switch to dough hook and knead for 4 minutes on high speed.

    5.transfer to a greased bowl cover with a towel or plastic wrap and let rise until doubled in size.

    6. once dough has risen portion into 2 ounce balls for uniformity

    7.place the rolls in a baking dish brush with egg wash and then cover and let rise again until doubled in size.

    8.once it has risen for a second time do a second brush of egg wash and then bake in the oven at 400 for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
