Buttermilk Waffles
Buttermilk Waffles
Light and fluffy buttermilk waffles, layered with fresh raspberry jam, topped with fresh berries and homemade whipped cream.
Waffle Batter
Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp vanilla bean paste
1/4 cup melted butter
1 3/4 cup buttermilk
3 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
Procedure
1.In a mixing bowl combine the flour, salt, and baking powder
2.Seperate the yolks and the whites of the 3 eggs
3.Then to the dry ingredients add the buttermilk, vanilla, melted butter, and the egg yolks and mix until well combined
4.In a stand mixer begin to whip your egg whites until light and foamy, then slowly pour in the sugar
5. Continue whipping the egg whites until they form soft peaks
6.Carefully Fold the meringue into the wet batter
7.Heat your waffle iron and grease with a non stick spray
8.Laddle your waffle batter into the hot waffle iron and cook until golden brown
Whipped Cream
Ingredients
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tbsp powdered sugar
a dash of vanilla bean paste
Procedure
1.Combine the cream, sugar, and vanilla in a mixing bowl and whisk together until it reaches stiff peaks
2.Transfer to a piping bag for plating
